Vision for Los Angeles

Vision for Los Angeles

As a born and raised Angeleno, Andrej’s Vision for Los Angeles centers around the problems identified from his decades-long residence in the City of Los Angeles, including…

Create Housing

Build Rapid-scale Public Dormitories
& Promote New Residential Construction

Improve Transportation

Expand Busway System and Supplement with
$5-7 Metro Vanpool Services

Empower Community

Establish the Dept of Community Engagement to Facilitate and Empower Local Community Leaders

Create Housing

Help the Vulnerable. Their Health is Our Health.

One of the greatest Cultural Values of Los Angeles is our generally high regard for our health and communities. Dignified Housing is Necessary to Personal and Community Health.

Vulnerable Angelinos, some teetering on the brink of despair, are being forced to live in RVs and tents on the streets because there’s no other option.

That’s not acceptable.

Streetside dwelling and homelessness not only makes our communities less safe and less walkable, but prevents the vulnerable getting the help and dignity they need to get on a pathway towards health.

While we strive to offer multi-room, modern housing for everyone, the reality is that we need a more modest, but rapidly buildable, solution to act as an interim solution to the Housing and Homelessness Epidemic in our City.

Solution: LA City Public Dormitories

Provide a rapidly-scalable, high capacity housing option to serve the most vulnerable.

Andrej proposes that the City of Los Angeles Build and Administer low-cost or waiver-eligible, high-density Public Dormitories, akin to Hostels, especially in areas with high rates of Homelessness such as Downtown LA.

This way, we can more easily bring our most-vulnerable under Community Roofs so we can serve their needs collectively with programs like Addiction Counseling and Mental Health Groups, Community Kitchens for Low-Cost Meal Service, Childcare, and Adult Education, among other services and initiatives so that they might find opportunity for Health.

As Mayor, Andrej also has plans to address the Rising Cost of Rent for both Residential and Commercial property, and he is a proponent of facilitating Meaningful Residential Upzoning Limits for Single-Family properties around the City to build more options for Young families and increase City Revenues.

Improve Transportation

Improve Traffic, Parking and Public Transit Usability

Our streets are over-crowded, and we lack quality public transit options.

The 2028 Olympics are approaching, and we don’t have enough time to build trains.

However, Los Angeles DOES HAVE a massive network of roads.

Unfortunately our busiest, most-travelled streets often have two usable lanes of traffic being occupied by Stationary Parked Cars.

Solution: Public Transit Expressways & Micro Shuttles

Repurpose parking lanes on a Network of Strategic Routes as Public Transit Expressways

Map of Los Angeles with multiple colorful public transportation routes, including metro lines and stations across the city and surrounding areas.

By repurposing streetside parking on a Network of Selective Streets as Transit Expressways, we can potentially improve Traffic Throughput by 50% or more by substituting street parking with more efficient Micro Shuttle and City Bus Express routes and provide commuters more desirable options for Economic Transit around Los Angeles.

LA Transit Expressways, supplemented by Micro Shuttle services will provide a better Public Transit Experience that will increase ridership and help take cars off our streets without reducing current traffic bandwidth.

In addition to these Expressways, Andrej is currently investigating and considering additional ways to improve transportation around Los Angeles, such as:

  • Prioritizing Police Presence at Transit Stations to Increase Safety

  • Creating more Economic Opportunity Zones around high traffic Transit Areas to promote usage and retail offerings

  • Reduced parking fines for Street Sweeping and Parking Violations

  • City-wide Annual Parking Permits in Lieu of Inefficient Parking Meter micro-payments

Empower Community

Support Community, Artists and Small Business. Empower Volunteers to Help Improve Our City

With more talent and diversity than any other city in the world, Los Angeles is one of the Premiere Arts, Culture, and Community hubs.

We also have the greatest concentration of highly talented Entertainment Professionals anywhere in the world, many of whom are experiencing hardship due to under-employment and the consolidation of Entertainment Conglomerates.

Solution: Support Live Entertainment and Volunteerism

Increase Opportunity for Entertainment Professionals and Promote Volunteerism

Under Mayor Andrej, the City will promote the development of Arts and Cultural festivals, events, and event-spaces such as Public Galleries and Playhouses, and empower our Film and Video Professionals to help Los Angeles grow our Live Entertainment and Public Entertainment Events into a destination that rivals New York and Las Vegas, drawing in visitors and tourism dollars as people around the world to come visit the City where Film & Television were born.

There are also a large number of LA City Residents who are willing to volunteer to help improve and beautify our city, but they don’t know where to start.

Andrej intends to get these would-be volunteers active by establishing the Department of Volunteer Engagement, whereby City residents can see online and volunteer for City Beautification Initiatives ahead of the 2028 Olympics, including Pavement Powerwashing, Park Horticulture and Cleanup, Crosswalk and Sidewalk Painting and Restoration, and the Creation of City Economic Zones with single-day use Permits for local vendors.

City Volunteers will get Special Access to City-sponsored events and Music festivals, and Special Recognition and Access during the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
